BAYAN-PLAYER’S PERFORMING SKILL IN THE CONTEXT OF FOLK ART’S UPDATING

Abstract
The article is devoted to the features of bayan-player’s performing skills in connection to the revival and rethinking of the meaning and contemporary role of folk art – its actualization. Ukraine, starting from the moment of gaining independence, is in a position to search for or create a new actual project of cultural creation, which is different from the one proposed by P. Kulish, because at this moment it cannot provide all the needs and challenges of our time. The new project should also not divide the tradition, the folklore roots of Ukrainian culture (including music) from the trends that appear in connection to the society’s development. The bayan is a musical instrument that allows this goal to be done, being a kind of phenomenon in the music world and demonstrating its own sociocultural specifics.
