Capacity assessment and modification of high noise barriers
Journal Title: Roads and Bridges - Drogi i Mosty - Year 2014, Vol 13, Issue 2
Abstract
Capacity assessment and modification of existing steel structure of high noise barriers in which imminent failure conditions occurs is developed in the article. Differences between design assumptions defined by Eurocode 3 and standards actual in the second half of XXth century could be the reason of underestimation of loads, which leads to lack of general stability of cantilever columns of the barrier. The structure and its technical condition, as well as conclusions of the performed analysis and methods of structure repair are shown in details.

Overloading coefficients of cantilever span support
Safety analysis of cantilevered bridges can be applied to spans and supports. The paper concerns effects of overloading of temporary supports, usually used for erecting concrete cantilevered spans. Influence of selected...
Reinforced concrete viaduct from beginning of the 20th century – microstructure analysis of 100 years old concrete
In the paper the history of a viaduct from Railway Warsaw - Kalisz and its present condition is described. The parabolic vaulted viaduct that was built for the Railway Warsaw - Kalisz, is probably one of two oldest concr...
Właściwości reologiczne asfaltów drogowych modyfikowanych polimerem SBS i kwasem polifosforowym
W celu poprawy właściwości lepkosprężystych asfaltów drogowych stosuje się powszechnie kopolimer typu styren-butadien-styren (SBS). Równocześnie trwają prace nad poszukiwaniem nowych rodzajów modyfikatorów, których stoso...
Investigation of the new weight in motion system
Validation of a new methodology of loads identification generated by the traveling vehicles on the road surface is presented. The proposed approach is based on the concept of monitoring of strain development in a deforma...
