Caracterización Educacional y Socioeconómica de los Estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencia Agropecuarias de la Universidad de Cuenca

Abstract
The descriptive and transversal research was carried out at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Cuenca, Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Agronomic Engineering, located in the province of Azuay, Ecuador, South America. The objective was to characterize the students enrolled in the period March - August 2016 for which a structured survey was applied to 100% of the student population on sociodemographic and satisfaction aspects on educational aspects using a Likert scale; In addition, the databases of the Socio Economic Management Systems (SGSE) and Academic Management (SGA) of the University of Cuenca were used. For data analysis, we worked on the statistical package IBM® SPSS® Statistics version 24 and Microsoft Office Excel® software version 16.0 considering the appropriate tools for descriptive research. The study showed that the largest student population comes from the area of direct influence of the University of Cuenca and tax schools with a academic performance of very good, being economically dependent on their families with limited income. Generally have a motivational environment as a favorable infrastructure for academic training however a considerable percentage of students do not have the capacity for planning and reading skills. It is evident that in the course of their third level training they are not able to maintain their academic performanceof very good by lowering their performance to a good grade, although in most of the aspects related to the educational institution most are satisfied.
