Abstract
In this article we talk about the different phases of the history of Cehegín, highlighting the city of Begastri, the Muslim period, the seigniorial villa under Alfonso X, Cehegín as a Templar villa, as a royal village dispossessed of the Templar domain, as a Santiago town after being administered by the Order of Santiago and finally as a city in the twentieth century.
