Cesarz i filozof: postawa Marka Aureliusza wobec chrześcijan

Abstract
The following chapter concerns the Christians' martyrdom during the reign of Marcus Aurerlius. The aim of this chapter is to analyse the attitude of Marcus Aurelius towards the Christians. In order to understand his motives the author focuses on the emperor's moral standards as well as philosphical and social attitudes. Presenting the examples of martyrdom the author focuses on the acts of martyrdom and relations of witnesses. Having analysed all the mateirals we can conclude that Marcus Aurelius cannot be considered as the pursuer of Christians.
