CHANGES IN EXPORT STRUCTURE AND GROWTH OF FDI AS THE DRIVING FORCES OF INCREASE OF COMPETITIVENESS OF THE SERBIAN ECONOMY

Abstract
The growth of export and increase of competitiveness of the economy are the main economic goals pursued by all countries. After almost a decade and a half of going through the process of transition, the international competitiveness of the Serbian economy is still extremely low. The main reasons for this are reflected in unfinished structural reforms of the production sector and the insufficient development of its export potential. By attracting foreign direct investments (FDI), the Republic of Serbia improves the structure of domestic production, raises the quality and volume of export of technology-intensive products, thus increasing the competitiveness of its economy
