Characteristics of Population Processes in Slupsk in the Years 2002–2016
Journal Title: Theory and Practice of Social Systems Management - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to describe demographic changes in the city of Slupsk in 2002–2016. Statistics show that Slupsk is losing its inhabitants from year to year. This is due to the negative birth rate, the drop in the number of marriages, the increasing number of divorces and the negative balance of internal and external migrations. The decreasing fertility of women, while extending the life expectancy of the residents, results in the progressive aging of the city population and deepening the negative numerical relations between generations.
