Characteristics of violin students’ training at Keimyung University in Daegu (South Korea) and the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw – based on a teacher’s experience

Abstract
The article outlines the organization of music education system in South Korea. It compares the characteristics of music education in Poland and South Korea, describes the manner of conducting classes, students’ preparation for performances and examinations, as well as their attitude to solo and orchestra playing. The author draws on the observations concerning Polish and Korean students’ training made during her own teaching activity. In 2013-2014, she worked as a visiting professor at Keimyung University in Daegu, where she ran the violin class. She is still cooperating with Korean students learning at the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw as part of the Chopin-Keimyung partnership program.
