Christian Assessment of the Technology in the Context of Global Environmental Problems: Philosophical and Religious Analysis

Abstract
In the article the Christian understanding of technology in the context of global environmental problems and the role of a human in their solution is researched. The dominant role of anthropogenic factors in the development and functioning of technology is proved, which determines the emergence of global environmental problems; the importance of taking into account the peculiarities of the Christian understanding of this problem is substantiated, which is due to the significant influence of Christianity on the formation of the moral and ethical principles of technology, the ecological crisis and ways of overcoming it, as well as on the change of the values of humanity. Engineering is an integral part of the modern civilization development. Mankind will not cut on its use, because efforts to ease life and the desire to make it more comfortable always accompanied the existence of human. However, never before, the humanity has not faced the threat of self-destruction and the destruction of the environment of nature. So, an important task for humanity is the change of the technogenic civilization development paradigm, not only on the material, but on the spiritual basis. Important for solution of the above problems is the involvement of all social institutions, including religion. It is substantiated that Christianity affects the formation of human spiritual points of reference, emphasizes the anthropological dimension of global environmental problems, one of the factors of which is the consumer attitude to nature, excessive enthusiasm for technical achievements
