Clinico- morphological study of pancreatic neoplasms

Journal Title: Indian Journal of Pathology and Oncology - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 3

Abstract

Pancreatic malignancy is the second leading cause of digestive cancer related death after colon cancer. Pancreatic neoplasms can be divided into Ductal adenocarcinoma, neuroendocrine tumors and cystic neoplasms. Our objective was to study the unususal lesions of pancreas with immunohistochemical expression. From this we reached a conclusion that the variants of pancreatic neoplasms are rare and high index of suspicion, careful search for characteristic histological features and supportive immunohistochemical studies are required for correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
