Clostridium difficile infection as a risk factor in surgery

Abstract
Ethiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms and treatment of Clostridium difficile infection are presented. The increasing incidence of Clostridium difficcile infection due to an excessive and uncontrolled use of antibiotics is emphasized. In the paper well-known and novel,alternative methods of C. difficile infection treatment are presented. Patients who undergo surgical procedures are especially high risk of Clostridium difficile associated diseases.
