COLORS SCALES OF BEADS COMPOSITIONS IN WOMEN’S LATE SARMATIAN BURIALS

Abstract
The research of the colors of beads found in burials can provide evidence of esthetic representations and norms of ancient societies. The study of the temporal and spatial distribution of individual colors of beads does not reveal the patterns of their distribution. Analysis of the color sets of beads in individual burials, on the contrary, is informative. Counting beads of different colors allows us to distinguish four types of color compositions in female late sarmatian burials: monochrome, bicolour, trichromatic, multicolor. The quantitative ratio of multicolor to other kinds of compositions demonstrates a greater distribution of the former during the entire existence of the late sarmatian culture.
