Combined team approach in management of severe maxillofacial injuries
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF MEDICAL COLLEGE CHANDIGARH - Year 2017, Vol 7, Issue 1
Abstract
Panfacial injuries are often present with associated injuries in head, eye and ear. The ideal treatment of these patients is truly multidisciplinary as it provides adequate outcome with conservation of resources. The management of a similar case has been described here to discuss the outcome and benefits of multidisciplinary team approach. A young male patient had severe maxillofacial injuries associated with optic nerve injury which was managed as a combined team of Maxillofacial, ENT and Eye surgeons at the same time. The outcome was highly rewarding with conservation of resources and cost.
