Journal Title: Journal of Stomatology (Czasopismo Stomatologiczne) - Year 2012, Vol 65, Issue 3
Abstract
The following section of the Scottish guidance ‘Dental clinical guidance. Prevention and Management of Dental Caries in Children’ outlines the strategies for dental management in the case of carious lesions of newly erupted permanent molar teeth and primary ones in children. Attention is drawn to high caries-risk of first permanent molars, the necessity of precise assessment of the state of pits on the occlusal and contact surfaces and their protection before the treatment of the primary teeth begins. In accordance with the principles accepted in Poland, like in the guidance, in children with mixed dentition, the management starts with sealing healthy pits and carrying out the Preventive Resin Restoration of defects on the occlusal surfaces, and then treating the remaining permanent teeth, and further the primary ones.
