COMMUNICATION CULTURE AS A COMPONENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE SOCIAL WORKERS

Abstract

The article deals with the communicative culture as a component of professional competence of future social worker. It is emphasized that level of speech culture of a person depends on level of formation of general culture, which contributes to the increase of intellectual, ideological, spiritual and moral development of individual. The process of mastering the language and its culture is related with acquisition of skills to speak and write correctly, to express own opinions clearly, to actively use of language knowledge, to use them competently and correctly in future professional activities. Perfect language proficiency is an important component of overall culture of individual; it contributes to professional preparation for future professional activities. The complexity of the process of communication is that the social worker communicates with people of different social status, and therefore requires a special, individual approach. An important condition of a culture of social worker communication is his ability to be the creator of communication. Whereas, from the ability to enter, to conduct, to continue, to discontinue the process of communication with different groups of clients depends on professionalism in solving the problem. One of the key in this context is an ability of future specialist of social sphere to organize speech, which corresponds to the generally accepted norms of literary language and is conditioned by expedient choice and organization of speech means, which in each particular situation of communication, under the observance of linguistic and ethical norms, allow to effectively solve communicative tasks. To assess the level of formation of the culture of communication of future social workers, we have conducted a test: "Communicative and organizational inclinations" (modification of the test from V. Ryakhovsky). Test tasks and questionnaires were developed to determine students' understanding of the concepts such as "speech culture", "vocational and speech communication". Using the method of expert assessments, it was revealed typical problems of students related to language and communication skills.
