COMMUNICATIVE STRATEGIES AND TACTICS OF SUGGESTION IN PROSECUTOR’S OPENING STATEMENT (CASE STUDY OF AMERICAN LEGAL THRILLERS)

Abstract
The article deals with the most effective communicative strategies and tactics of suggestion in the prosecutor’s opening statement, case study of American legal thrillers. The article proves that one of the main prosecutor’s aims in his opening statement is to exert due influence on the jury’s thoughts, feelings, attitudes, decisions. To achieve their goals, prosecutors use such communicative strategies and tactics of suggestion that help them bring changes into the jury’s cognitive system changing their thoughts, attitudes, emotions and feelings to the prosecutor and his client as well as to the defendant and his defense attorney.
