COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SURVEY DATA ABOUT PRE-TRIP BUS SERVICE

Abstract
Problem. The previously performed analysis of op-erational reliance of buses in one of the motor transport company (MTC), which are used on urban routes detected its low level: mathematical expectation of everyday exits from the route, caused by technical reasons (breakdown of constructive elements which have an influence on transportation safety), equaled 6.189 auto/days (i.e. 6 buses from 171 broke down every day); intervals between break downs is 2.687 days. The service life of buses often exceeds 8-10 years (5% from general amount in MTC). Production and technical facilities of MTC, where operations of maintenance and repair are performed, are obsolete and are not updated by new repair-technological and diagnostic facilities. Goal. The purpose was set to elicit factors which have an impact on reduction of buses reliance, in particular internal (during performance of maintenance and repair). Methodology. A questionnaire (expert survey) and gathering and processing of received data – by the method of determination of coherence of expert marks, which were, in this case, engineering-technical staff of production and technical facilities of MTC, and also by the method of examination of the received concord coefficient value. Results. The concord coefficient, by the results of survey of engineering-technical staff, appeared to be low (0,24), while its significance is enough. Comparison of expert survey results of this staff with analogic previously performed among bus drivers was made. It occurred that there is a correlation between them, in particular, regarding the factors of compulsory daily execution of all operations of the pre-trip service and operations, which provide road safety. Originality. The application of modern method of expert survey in investigation of the influence of organizational and technological factors on buses technical service system development was first shown. Practical value. The received results will be sent directly to the directorship of MTC for making appropriate decisions about development and implementation of engineering-technical measures of high priority for the development of production and technical base and its subdivisions by which enterprise can increase operational reliance of buses.
