COMPARISON OF RISK SCORE RATIO METHOD AND ITS MODIFIED VERSION TO ASSESS PROFESSIONAL RISK IN A MANUFACTURING COMPANY

Abstract

This paper discusses the nature of professional risk. It characterises the quantitative and qualitative approach to professional risk assessment and pinpoints the role of the risk involving the human factor. Two approaches to professional risk assessment on a shop floor position have been compared. The first one applies the classic Risk Score method, while the other one uses its modification on the basis of the implemented technological process and assessment of potential harm to the employee’s health, since in the system: employee – machine – work environment the employee is a highly unreliable element, who can create a real threat to their health.
