Compensation of reactive power in the power-supplying system in a roller mixer in laboratory conditions
Journal Title: Archiwum Odlewnictwa - Year 2009, Vol 9, Issue 3
Abstract
Of particular importance are instantaneous voltage and current levels registered in the three-phase power-supplying systems in roller mixer in laboratory conditions. Recorded data allow the apparent power, active and reactive power to be determined as well as power factors cosφ and tgφ for the predetermined parameters of the system sand being mixed and for the given roller sets. On the basis of the registered power fluctuations, the capacity of batteries and condensers compensating the reactive power for the mixer are found. Conclusions are drawn as to technical and economic aspects of the applied compensation strategy.

Production system rationalisation on the example of iron foundry
The present paper presents a systemic approach to foundry management. Thanks to production process modelling and simulation techniques, an attempt was made to synthesise many interconnected devices and numerous manufactu...
Effect of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles on Water Glass Structure
An attempt has been made to determine the effect of an addition of colloidal suspensions of the nanoparticles of magnesium oxide on the structure of water glass, which is a binder for moulding and core sands. Nanoparticl...
Efficiency of protective coatings on high creep resistant cast steel
This paper presents results of research of multilayer aluminium–silicon coatings. Aluminium–silicon coatings were created on high– temperature creep resist cast iron using slurry method in air atmosphere. These coatings...
Applying RP-FDM Technology to Produce Prototype Castings Using the Investment Casting Method
The research focused on the production of prototype castings, which is mapped out starting from the drawing documentation up to the production of the casting itself. The FDM method was applied for the production of the 3...
Trials to manufacture and test castings from Inconel alloy
The article describes the methods of producing and testing the Inconel 740 nickel alloy in as-cast state. An assumption has been made that the obtained alloy should be characterised by a normative chemical composition an...
