Concepções de um professor de inglês sobre as significações do conceito de "bom professor"

Abstract
One of the recent disscussions in the field of teacher training is how to determine what is necessary to be a competant English teacher. This paper analyses what is considered a good English teacher through the eyes of a teacher in a language school. For this reason, a semi-structued interview was used. This interview analysed the language school teacher’s conception of a good teacher. It was found that the teacher is considered the center of knowledge, and thus allows the student to learn. A good teacher, therefore, is one who is capable of promoting the learning of their students.
