CONDUCTANCE QUANTIZATION IN FERROMAGNETIC CO NANOWIRES
Journal Title: Metrology and Measurement Systems - Year 2006, Vol 13, Issue 2
Abstract
Room temperature electronic transport properties of ferromagnetic quantum wires have not been yet fully understood, and the role of electronic structure of magnetic atoms in the conductance quantization is still under discussion. We present experimental results on conductance quantization in point contacts between ferromagnetic (Co) or nonmagnetic (Au) wires and semiconductor (Ge) samples. The main features of the conductance histograms are consistent with the conductance quantization in the units of quantum conductance G0 for the nonmagnetic wires and nG0 for the ferromagnetic Co nanowires. Such behavior of the conductance of ferromagnetic wires is a consequence of the complex electronic structure of magnetic 3d transition-metal atoms. A description of the quantization phenomena is presented in terms of the Landauer formalism.

THE EFFECT OF DOUBLE VENTURI'S STRUCTURAL PARAMETERS ON THE REINFORCEMENT VALUE AND FLOW COEFFICIENT
Reinforcement factor of a double Venturi is one of the more important parameters related to sensor shape and structure. The evaluation and the effect of the double Venturi's structural parameters on its value were carrie...

A NEURAL NETWORK BASED SYSTEM FOR SOFT FAULT DIAGNOSIS IN ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS
The paper considers the architecture and the main steps of development of a neural network based system for diagnosis of soft faults in analog electronic circuits. The definition of faults of interest, selection of an op...
THE TRANSPORTATION DISTANCE FOR FUZZY DESCRIPTIONS OF MEASUREMENTS
Fuzzy nominal scales were introduced in order to propose a formalism to the representation of empirical quantities by fuzzy subsets of words. This scale proposes a similarity relation and an associated bounded distance t...
APPLICATION OF A BAYESIAN ESTIMATOR FOR IDENTIFICATION OF EDIBLE OILS ON THE BASIS OF SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DATA
Spectrophotometric analysis of oil mixtures, containing olive oil, is the subject of this paper. Its objective is to compare a new Bayesian estimator with the constrained least-squares estimator, when applied for estimat...
