Confidence Interval For The Estimation of The Correlation Coefficient
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN MATHEMATICS - Year 2015, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
Pearsons correlation coefficient is used to measure the influence of one quantitative variable on another quantitative variable. Basing on the sign of correlation, the type of dependence (positive/negative) can be decided in bi-variate data. The estimation of parameter can be done in two methods, point estimation and interval estimation. In this paper, various methods to find the confidence interval for the correlation are discussed. As the population correlation coefficient is estimated by the Pearsons correlation coefficient, the Monte-Carlo simulation will give the approximate the estimation of the Pearsons correlation coefficient ( r ). The Fisher Z, Bootstrap method and variance reduction methods are discussed in this paper.

Robust H1 control for a class of switched nonlinear systems
This article is concerned with the robust H1 control problem of a class of switched nonlinear systems with norm-bounded time-varying uncertainties. The system considered in this class is composed of two parts: a uncertai...
FEASIBILTY ANALYSIS OF WALKING OF PASSIVE DYNAMIC BIPED ROBOT
Passive dynamic walking is an essential development for the biped robots. So the focus of our work is a systematic analysis of the passive walk of a planar biped robot on an inclined slope. The dynamics of passiv...
INTRODUCING A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR BONE METASTASES CONTROL
In this paper after investigating a specific drug to prevent progressing of bone metastases; a new mathematical model is introduced for affection of this drug. Bone metastases (secondary tumor) occurs when cancer cells s...
The Hermite Hadamard Inequality on Hypercuboid
Given any a := (a1; a2,... ; an) and b := (b1; b2;... ; bn) in Rn. The n-fold convex function dened on [a; b], a; b 2 Rn with a < b is a convex function in each variable separately. In this work we prove an...
