Abstract
The paper is dedicated to the analyses of the conflict discourse as the environment for the communicative situation of psychological imbalance development. The conflict discourse constitutes the main stay of our investigation in pragmatic, interactive and discrete aspects. The ontological characteristics of the conflict discourse as an act of confrontational communicative behavior triggering the psychological imbalance development are raised from those of the communicative situation of the conflict. To go deep into the linguistic realm of the conflict, the psychological underpinning of the concept based on the notions of «confrontation», «collision», «contradiction», «needs», «interest», «person» and «society» is being explored. The noted notions throw the light on the conflict discourse as constituted of confrontational communicative acts, the participants of which tend to influence the behaviour or way of thinking of the opposite side by means of verbal andor nonverbal communicative components in the interactional environment. The psychological imbalance emerges from the research as an opposition of «balance : imbalance». Balanced state exists when the amplitude of the dynamic characteristics of the subjects remains unchangeable during the process of communication. The state of the psychological imbalance is produced when the amplitude of the dynamic characteristics of the subjects alters, embodying the perlocutionary effect of the communicative act.
