Congresses of naturalists and physicians, as an effective means of educational and promotional work in the second half of XIX – early XX century

Abstract
The article reproduced the prerequisites for the Foundation and work of congresses of naturalists and physicians of the Russian Empire in the second half of XIX – early XX century. The author tried to determine the effect of the all-Russian congresses of naturalists and physicians in the development of science and dissemination of scientific and medical knowledge in society, to show the effectiveness of this form of organization of science as a national Congress of naturalists and doctors. An important part of the article is available to members of the natural and medical societies, who not only participated in scientific congresses, but and initiated holding of such forums in the Russian Empire. With reference to the source base the article reveals the role of congresses of naturalists and physicians in the development of educational and promotional work, defined the contribution of congresses in the consolidation of Russian scientists, played against the conventions of the State, scientific community and the public.
