COOPETITION AS A MODERN APPROACH OF STRATEGIC ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

An article devoted to the consideration of the features of modern competitive relations in the context of their new forms, which are observed in the markets of goods and services, named coopetition. This concept is a logical consequence of competition development in the system of market relations. Coopetition organically combines two traditionally opposite directions of relations between enterprises – competition and cooperation. Regardless of the type of market relations, the coopetition usually involves mutual coordination of the actions between competitors in order to reduce the negative impact of the information asymmetry or the implementation of joint projects which require significant financial costs. Traditional forms of coopetition are a strategic alliance (cooperation carried out in the framework of individual agreements between companies), a patent pool (joint use of intellectual property objects) and joint ventures (temporary associations within the framework of a particular project). The article identifies a number of important factors, which in the process of formation the ties, based on the concept of coopetition and chosen the appropriate forms of organization involved in these relations, are crucial for the enterprise. Such factors include the level of material involvement of the cooperative company: the size of the companies and the time factor in the context of the goals and objectives of the competitive cooperation between two organizations. The article presents examples of successful competitive cooperation related to the creation of joint ventures in various fields of human activity for the implementation of capital-intensive and science-intensive projects. Also, an example of cooperative relations within the large business cluster is given.
