CORRELATION BETWEEN HARDNESS AND TENSILE PROPERTIES IN ULTRA-HIGH STRENGTH DUAL PHASE STEELS – SHORT COMMUNICATION
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2011, Vol 18, Issue 4
Abstract
The possibility to predict yield strength, strength limit, fatigue live estimation as well as other mechanical properties depending on values of materials hardness is commonly known and it is often used in practice. The main aim of this contribution is to review the possibilities of application of correlation relationships between hardness and ultimate tensile strength of steel sheets in various structural states. The experiments were performed on advanced steels with structure which is composed from ferrite and martensite (dual phase steels).

UTILIZATION OF STEREOLOGY FOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF PLASTIC DEFORMATION OF FORMING PIECES
Mechanical working leads to final properties of forming pieces, which are affected by conditions of production technology. Utilization of stereology leads to the detail analysis of three-dimensional plastic deformed mate...
EFFECTIVNESS OF THE FATIGUE CRITERIA FOR COMBINED BENDING – TORSION LOADING
Most of mechanical components in the engineering are frequently subjected to combined loading, which can lead to sudden fatigue failure. In present work the fatigue life of plasma-nitrided and virgin specimens is studied...
STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS & DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF TANTALUM OXIDE DOPED BARIUM TITANATE BASED MATERIALS
In this research, the causal relationship between the dielectric properties and the structural characteristics of 0.5 & 1.0 mole % Ta2O5 doped BaTiO[sub]3[/sub] based ceramic materials were investigated under differe...
Cyclic plastic behavior and fatigue life of AZ91 alloy in as-cast and ultrafine-grained state
Fatigue properties of magnesium alloy AZ91 in as-cast and in ultrafine-grained state prepared by equal channel angular pressing were investigated. The fatigue strength in the low-cycle fatigue region was found to be subs...
