KINETICS OF HARDNESS CHANGES DURING AGE-HARDENING OF SILUMIN
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2011, Vol 18, Issue 4
Abstract
Simple phenomenological description of age-hardening kinetics of supersaturated solid solution is presented using the sum of exponential functions with negative arguments containing rate constants, for whose temperature dependence the Arrhenius equation is used. The number of exponentials in the sum is discussed considering sufficiently accurate description as well as the number of distinguishable processes occurred during hardening. Also the limits of this approach are presented. Hardness changes of silumin during age-hardening are used for demonstration of this procedure.

The article compares the properties of plasma and HVOF thermally sprayed coatings obtained by blending the NiCrBSi and Fe2O3 powders. The deposition was performed by means of the Plancer PN-120 and the Diamond Jet guns f...
PROTECTIVE LAYERS OF IRON AND NICKEL ALUMINIDES ON STEEL
Intermediary phases Ni-Al and Fe-Al are promising materials due to their superior properties such as hardness and good resistance against oxidation at high temperatures. Moreover, Fe-Al phases are resistant in sulphur -...
The investigation of the corrosion resistance of the tension clamps Skl14
At the level crossings it is possible to find the problems with the corrosion of the parts of the fastening system. These problems are especially at the rubber level crossings and in the tunnels. As a part of the thesis...
Degradation of Czechoslovak creep resistant steels after 50 years of service
Thermally loaded assemblies in the energy and chemical industries require materials that provide the necessary functional characteristics, even after very long periods of operation. For the assessment of these materials...
FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF HOT-ROLLED STEEL INTENDED FOR COLD FORMING
In the work, there are presented measured tension and fatigue properties of eight low-carbon steels moulded in form of 20 kg ingots that were processed by controlled regime of rolling /cooling and then exposed to simulat...
