Critical notes about housing policy of the frst Peronismo in Jujuy (1946-1955)

Abstract
The topic of housing and Peronismo in recent times has been the subject of extensive research. However, most tended to focus on the nation as a whole or in Buenos Aires, ignoring the experiences occurring in distant regions of the River Plate area, such as the Argentine Northwest. This paper analyzes housing policy implemented by the Peronista government in Jujuy, and his impact on the critical housing situation of the province. As a working hypothesis we consider that, although the press continually highlighted the work of Peronismo in the housing feld, it was generally characterized by very few neighborhoods built. Consequently, the housing defcit continued throughout this period, which resulted in the illegal occupation of those houses built by the government as well as applications submitted by several people in pursuit of a unit. So from this work we aim to highlight certain nuances that in the housing feld, presented those famed years of “democratización del bienestar”.
