«CROSS-PATHS» BY IVAN FRANKO – «SPIDER» BY XU DISHAN (《綴網勞蛛》許地山): LOVE AND HATE ANTHROPOLOGY
Journal Title: Закарпатські філологічні студії - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue
Abstract
The paper performs the psychoanalytic categorization of Ivan Franko’s «Cross-Paths» and Xu Dishan’s «Spider» through the lens of love and hate anthropology. The research study shares the opinion about archetypal symbols and considers images of dialectical theological thinking by the contraposition of good and evil. The author looks into the sense and meaning of symbols and images in Franko’s «Cross Paths» as related to the philosophical concepts of Confucianism and Taoism making comparisons with Xu Dishan’s «Spider» analyzed according to the Christian worldview. She argues that this «bizarre» cultural phenomenon can be explained if looking at Carl Jung’s «collective unconscious» as identical for all people and nations.
