Current Trends in Arbitration

Journal Title: ADR. Arbitraż i Mediacja - Year 2015, Vol 1, Issue 29

Abstract

The rapidly accelerated trend towards extended globalisation of the modern economy has contributed to the development of processes of denationalization of territorial space as economic and legal activities are no longer limited to territorial states’ borders, but transcend them. It has boosted economic relations in both national and transnational spheres generating a mass increase in the number of commercial contracts, which in turn leads to an increase of commercial disputes requiring resolution. These processes have influenced the development of commercial arbitration all over the world. They have strongly impacted on the trends of the evolution of modern commercial arbitration, which in turn has been transformed into a well organised, institutionalised and professionally managed system of the resolution of commercial disputes.
