Czasopismo „Oświata i Wychowanie” (1929–1939) w systemie prasowym władz szkolnych Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej

Abstract
The subject of the article is the magazine „Pedagogy and Education” [„Oświata i Wychowanie”], published between 1929 and 1939 by the Ministry of Religions and Public Education [Ministerstwo Wyznań Religijnych i Oświecenia Publicznego]. This periodical can be included in the press system of Interwar Poland’s school authorities, due to its publisher (MWRiOP), authors, editorial organization, function, tasks and covered topics (wide range of issues associated with pedagogy and education, as suggested in the title). The official diaries of school authorities of third and second resort, e.g. the ministerial and department of education’s ones underlay this press system and the didactical magazine „Pedagogy and Education” of informative-and-propagandist character was an addition. In the first year the periodical was published every two months, apart from July and August (summer break), and in 1930 it was turned into a monthly paper. Monthly frequency that was kept until 1939, the paper incorporated into the Ministry’s (MWRiOP’s) organization and wide editorial formula: al this facilitated information diffusion, intensified and actuated propaganda measures, shaped public opinion, thanks to the opportunity of rising various issues significant for culture and education; issues regarding political, economical, educational and cultural changes in Poland, and development of pedagogy and similar areas. The periodical was aimed at educated people, professionally linked to the educational system: school authorities’ representatives of all resorts, employees of various educational academic and extracurricular institutions, both public and non-public. During the final years of publication it was also directed to students’ parents and other people interested in mentioned issues. The article reads about the periodical's "Oświata i Wychowanie" characteristics and is an attempt to define its role in the press system of Interwar Poland’s school authorities.
