DATABASES "GIFTEDNESS" IN PEDAGOGICAL PROVISION FOR GIFTED CHILDREN

Abstract

Development of the first regional giftedness development programs in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts has caused the need to streamline and systematize data on educational institutions that deal with gifted children, successful experience of pedagogical provision for gifted children and youth, and collection of gifted children data to improve work with, their financial and material support and encouragement, as well as the formation of the "Olympic" reserve of cities, districts and oblasts. The article highlights organization and procedures for collecting data on gifted children at the level of educational institution, city, district and oblast. According to regional giftedness development programs and regulations on the giftedness database, gifted children are divided into several categories by type of giftedness: intellectual, practical and transformative, artistic and aesthetic, psychomotor, and communicative and organizational. The dynamics of changes in the filling of the Oblast Bank “Giftedness”, as well as additions and new categories of gifted children proposed by the regional programs in 2010 and 2017 are considered. Successful experience of creative use of gifted children’s databases by educational institutions of the East Ukrainian region is described: Mariupol City Lyceum, Kramatorsk Ukrainian Gymnasium, Severodonetsk Multidisciplinary Lyceum. Gathered data on gifted children in various forms is used to enhance the status, improve the image of the institution and as a motivational factor for students. According to the results of the students’ entry into the “Giftedness” Bank, Donetsk and Luhansk institutes of postgraduate pedagogical education publish a book with information about gifted children, their achievements and teachers.
