DEFINITION OF THE TERM “INNOVATION” IN FIRST SCIENTIFIC THEORIES OF INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The article examines the results of scientific research of leading scientists who created an innovative theory. The historical development of this doctrine is considered, which includes the theory of the classical school of political economy, the ideology of the modern theory of innovative development. The types of innovations are determined. The classification of innovations is proposed. The essence and features of the economic category “innovation” are studied. The significance of the innovative activity of the society in the conditions of the evolution of the economic system of the world is clarified.
