DENOMINATIVE VERBS AS AN ACTIVE MODERN TREND DEVELOPMENT IN THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of verbs with the suffixes -ува-, -и-, -і- derived from the nouns. Derivation being an active modern trend development of the Ukrainian language, the author proves its relevance and perspective. Denominative verbs were outlined and defined in different works by O. Potebnya, V. Yagych, S. Bevzenko, L. Yurchuk and others. The purpose of our research is to study denominative verbs as an active modern trend in derivational processes in the Ukrainian language. The object of the research is functioning of derivatives in the Ukrainian language. The subject of our research is the denominative verbs with the suffixes -ува-, -и-, -і-. To reach the aim we defined the following problems: to outline the denominative verbs with the suffixes -ува-, -и-, -і- as an active modern trend of the Ukrainian language in mass media; to study characteristics of this trend development and to determine what causes their formation. Methodology. The descriptive methods, continuous sampling method, the method of morphemic and derivational analysis are used. Finding. The research results show that the word-building patterns of the denominative verbs with the suffixes -ува-, -и-, -і- in modern Ukrainian language are the most active. The main reason of their active use is to briefly express one's opinion. Practical value. The methodology, elaborated classifications of the word-building patterns of the denominative verbs with the suffixes -ува-, -и-, -і- can be used in the process of writing textbooks on morphemics and word formation in the Ukrainian language at a high school. Results. The denominative verbs with the suffixes -ува-, -и-, -і- are the main modern trend development in derivation of the Ukrainian language.
