Design and Development of Smart Basnet Applications as a Basic Computer Networking Learning Media for First Grade Student of Vocational High School

Abstract

The lack of adequate learning resources has an impact on the low level of interest of learners to the subject matter, thus resulting in disruption of the process to achieve the expected learning objectives. This will affect student learning outcomes. Technological developments increasingly rapidly, can be used to design an application that can be used as a source of learning or learning media. The purpose of this research is to produce Smart Basnet application which can be used as instructional media for basic computer networking. Smart Basnet learning application is learning application designed using Adobe Flash Professional CS6 software. This application contains basic computer networking subject material that is packaged interactively in the form of text, images, and simulations. So it can help improve student's learning interest. The development model used is the ADDIE development model, which is analysis, design, develops an implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques used was observation, literature, documentation, and questionnaires. The application was tested to 35 students of class X TKJ. The results of application learning validation obtained percentage of 93.4% of media experts, 88.8% of material experts, and 81.2% of users or students. Indicates the learning applications that have been developed can be used as learning resources or learning media for basic computer networking subjects
