Design of LCD Touch Controller Based on ARM and FPGA

Abstract

To overcome the problems of limited frame rates, processor overload, poor portability of current liquid crystal display (LCD) touch screen control technology, a design scheme of LCD touch screen controller based on advance risc machine (ARM) and field-programme gate array (FPGA) was proposed.The input output control of the LCD touch screen was achieved by ARM.The synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) controller and LCD module were built by FPGA, so as to achieve hardware acceleration of system and real-time display of LCD with different resolution.The experimental results show that the data transmission rate of the controller can be up to 31 MB/s which can be adapted to the LCD with different resolution while completing the touch manipulation.
