Developing an Algorithm to Consider Mutliple Demand Response Objectives
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
Due to technological improvement and changing environment, energy grids face various challenges, which, for example, deal with integrating new appliances such as electric vehicles and photovoltaic. Managing such grids has become increasingly important for research and practice, since, for example, grid reliability and cost benefits are endangered. Demand response (DR) is one possibility to contribute to this crucial task by shifting and managing energy loads in particular. Realizing DR thereby can address multiple objectives (such as cost savings, peak load reduction and flattening the load profile) to obtain various goals. However, current research lacks algorithms that address multiple DR objectives sufficiently. This paper aims to design a multi-objective DR optimization algorithm and to purpose a solution strategy. We therefore first investigate the research field and existing solutions, and then design an algorithm suitable for taking multiple objectives into account. The algorithm has a predictable runtime and guarantees termination.

Application of Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) Method for Studying the Dynamic Behavior of Structures During Earthquakes
Prediction of existing buildings’ vulnerability by future earthquakes is one of the most essential topics in structural engineering. Modeling steel structures is a giant step in determining the damage caused by the earth...
Auditor Tenure and Accounting Conservatism: Testing Moderating Effect of Owner’s Importance
Conservatism is one of the salient features of financial reporting that has attracted more attention in recent years because of financial scandals. Several recent studies have focused specifically on conservatism. This r...
Torque Ripple Minimization and Performance Investigation of an In-Wheel Permanent Magnet Motor
Recently, electric vehicle motoring has become a topic of interest, due to the several problems caused by thermal engines such as pollution and high oil prices. Thus, electric motors are increasingly applied in vehicle’...
A Quantitative Measure For Evaluating Project Uncertainty Under Variation And Risk Effects
The effects of uncertainty on a project and the risk event as the consequence of uncertainty are analyzed. The uncertainty index is proposed as a quantitative measure for evaluating the uncertainty of a project. This is...
Temperature Response in Hardened Concrete Subjected to Tropical Rainforest Environment
The objective of this paper is to characterize concrete micro-environment temperature response to the natural climate of the tropical rainforest. The peculiar warmth, high humidity, and low pressure nature of the tropica...
