DEVELOPING METHODS FOR TOURISM ENTERPRISES RISK DIAGNOSTICS IN THE SPHERE OF OUTBOUND TOURISM

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is to substantiating the methods for tourism companies risk diagnostics in the sphere of outbound tourism. Methodology of research. The fundamental provisions of the modern economic theory, scientific works as well as statutory and legislative acts of Ukraine on risk-management serve as the theoretical and methodological basis of the research. Such methods were used in the process of the research: theoretical generalization; abstract-logical method – when researching theoretical principles of risk management; monographic method (when studying the peculiarities of insurance development in the sphere of tourism and the main principles of its regulation); rating – for forming the rating of insurance payments in case of natural disasters; synergy – for identifying the strategic-decisions-making effect at the enterprises in question; modelling and forecasting – it enables defining the forecasting capital which is necessary for the insurance company to perform the outbound tourism risk insurance depending on the level of its own reserve fund. Findings. It was revealed that the development of tourism in the modern world is characterized by the negative influence of natural disasters that lead to considerable material losses. The economic risks were analysed and the main international tourism business risk factors were specified, namely: the irregularity of demand on tourism services; inadequate performance of obligations by counter-agents; dependence on the natural and ecological situation; political instability in tourist recreation countries; general economic state, both in the tourist’s residence country and in the recreation countries. The main natural disasters and their impact in the world were elucidated. Originality. The necessity of reinsurance operations when ensuring outbound tourism risks was justified. It was determined that with the help of reinsurance the insurer is able to create a balanced insurance portfolio taking into account the damage dispersion as well as σ result standard root-mean-square deviation that has been received by the company in the recent years. It was proven that reinsurance is an indispensable condition of insurance operations financial stability and regular functioning of an insurance company, which is especially important by insuring outbound tourism risks. Practical value. The usage of the mathematical model based on the average tourist enterprise financial security index enables defining the forecasting capital which is necessary for the insurance company to perform the outbound tourism risk insurance depending on the level of its own reserve fund.
