Development of a module for measuring concentrations of harmful and explosive gases in a mini unmanned aerial vehicle

Abstract
The development is carried out on the basis of the sensor of harmful and explosive gases. In the work, the authors proposed a scheme that provides a stable output signal containing measurement information about the gas concentration. The proposed module can be used to search for gases; it is compact, lightweight, with the ability to be mounted on any mini unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This project provides the development of a system that is based on a regular commercial mini UAV AR.Drone by Parrot company, with a module for measuring gas concentration, where the control and processing of the received data is carried out at the base station under the control of the Robot Operating System (ROS). The system automatically collects data on pollution and finds sources of gas leakages at potentially hazardous locations. The mobile system is able to operate in the absence of a GPS signal, it has the ability to be quickly deployed and piloted by operator or work in an autonomous mode, without danger to his life. Initial laboratory tests were carried out and confirmed the viability of the system.
