DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONALLY IMPORTANT QUALITIES SYSTEM OF A TECHNICAL BACHELOR FOR THE SELECTION TO THE MASTERʼS COURSE

Abstract
The article shows the research which reveals that the current tendency in the modern higher education requires additional consideration of professionally important qualities (PIQ) of a person at his/her admission to the masterʼs course. The standard of higher education does not impose strict requirements to PIQ, but mentions their high importance. The analysis of professional and scientific activity in the preparation of a bachelor of the technical field, presented in the research, enabled us to define the system of a masterʼs scope of activity and form the complex of professionally important qualities (PIQ) for the selection to the Masters course. Based on the categories of a future masterʼs activity (practical and academic) under research, the PIQs were systemized and all the dimensions of their interrelations were defined. As a result, the system of the professionally important qualities (PIQ) of a future master student was developed with the view of the types of activity. A scale for assessing the level of PIQ development of the bachelor student was determined and described in the article; the preliminary diagnostics of the level of some PIQ was made among current master degree students. To implement the basic complex of the PIQ of the future master students, the mapping of information in the polar coordinate system was suggested. The PIQ complex was justified and the basic (minimum required) PIQ level was defined, which the future master of a technical field must possess. The basic PIQ complex of a bachelor in the technical field for the admission to the masterʼs course was constructed in the course of the mentioned research.
