Development of strategies of old industrial regions

Abstract
The strategies for socio-economic development of the old industrial regions of Ukraine (Donetsk region, Lugansk region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Zaporizhzhya region) are analyzed in the article. The modern strategic planning should be carried out by modernizing the economy of old industrial regions, developing new science intensive industries based on the resources of the region using the principles of sustainable development. Donetsk and Lugansk regions will have their own peculiarities in the development of regional strategies. These features are associated with the military conflict in eastern Ukraine.
