DEVELOPMENT OF THE LEXEME “MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY”

Abstract
The concept of “municipal power” has a direct relationship to the concepts relevant to the implementation of the activities of local government. In particular, these are the concepts of “self-government”, “local self-government”, “local government”, “local public authority” and “local government”, “municipality”, “communal government”, etc. As a rule, these categories are relevant to the processes of legal provision and the actual implementation of power at a specific territorial level. In the article presented an attempt is made to analyze these legal categories and from the axiological position to formulate a vision regarding the optimal name of the representative bodies of territorial associations.
