Diagnosis of lymphadenopathy based on a case report

Abstract

A women aged 80 was admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine in order to perform the diagnostics of enlarged lymph nodes. Diagnostic examinations covered chest X-ray, cervical and abdominal ultrasonography, spiral computed tomography of the abdomen and chest, which showed generalized lymphadenopathy. After histologic examination of the resected supraclavicular lymph nodes a diagnosis of Mantle cell lymphoma was made. Based on this case, possible diagnostic measures in lymphadenopathy are discussed.
