DIAGNÓSTICO SOCIAL: MÚLTIPLAS DIMENSÕES DA POBREZA NOS PAÍSES DO MERCOSUL

Abstract
The present research is a social diagnosis about the multiple dimensions of poverty within Mercosur countries. We understand that only through precise diagnoses , that is, understanding the real causes of social phenomena, we will be able to propose viable solutions for our region. The main objective of this research is to apply the Multidimensional Poverty Index (IPM) in order to understand which dimensions of poverty are more inaccessible and deprive the population of Mercosur countries. IPM, unlike other methods, allows a broader understanding of social phenomena and processes in a more systemic and ecological way, demonstrating that the social reality is complex and composed by a network of exchanges and dimensions that influence each other. This method reduces the risk of underestimating the complexity of the poverty phenomenon and neglecting the heterogeneity present in it. For that, the methodology used is a symbiosis between qualitative and quantitative research, wherein we use statistical data and basic concepts for this subject.
