Diagramatic description of distributed spatial data processing
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Human - Computer Interaction - Year 2012, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
Most of the times, modeling and simulating natural phenomena involves a large number of operations, based on different compatibility constraints and rules. The solution proposed in this paper optimizes the entire description process through execution workflows. It offer the users special interaction techniques for workflow specification, automatic mechanism for syntactic validation of the described phenomena, hierarchical organization of the workflow, collaborative environment, reuse of resources, graphical modules customization. The proposed solution is intended to be used by both technical and non-technical users that do not have knowledge about the computational infrastructure. This paper describes the features implemented within the WorkflowEditor application that allows the interactive workflow development used in distributed processing of spatial data.

Testing with Visual Impairment Users of a Local Public Administration Web Site
Accessibility and usability are two concepts which evolved together, usability being associated with ergonomics (especially cognitive ergonomics) of the user-interfaces and accessibility being associated with the not dis...
Extracting Implicit Opinions of Economic Texts
We propose a new approach to opinion mining that relies not on explicit occurrences of opinions in economic texts but on implicit ones extracted from the polarity of the discussed economic subtopic. We begin by dynamica...
Usability evaluation of a learning scenario for Biology implemented onto an augmented reality platform
The combination between real and virtual in the augmented reality systems requires suitable interaction techniques that need to be tested with users in order to avoid usability problems. Formative evaluation aims at find...
Interaction Techniques In Earth Science Applications
The modelling, simulation and visualization of environmental data involves the defining and development of some particular interaction techniques. An architecture that supports different interaction techniques is present...
