DIE SPRACHE DER SPRACHLOSEN in Nilgün Taşmans "Ich träume deutsch … und wache türkisch auf"

Abstract
In the presentstudy, the subject of "Language of the Dumb" in Nilgün Tasman's work titled "Ich träume deutsch ... und wache turkisch auf" was analyzed, andtogether with examples of texts from the work, language / expression problems, dumbness / lack of expressive language and theirreasons were examined. The inability to express oneself appears to be based on three factors in this work; a- lack of sufficient power/energy to express oneself, b- lack of proficiency in the language of a new and foreign country, c- lack of language and deprivation of the speech organs.When a person cannot speak or is not allowed to speak, that person will remain silent, unhappy, sick and bodily ill, or weep and cry in the form of expression.Under these circumstances, human body can develop body/sign language, and use gestures and mimics. S/he can distance himself from the other persons and develop a sense of hatred towards him/her. S/he can develop a struggle to cope with it, and ask for help from the others. In the present study, the effects of staying dumb and unable to express oneself were analyzed comparatively with the examples from the work. As possible suggestions for solutions, there is a need to educate the individual and the community, and to develop mutual tolerance, understanding, respect and love. The perception of justice, democracy, consciousness, respect for human rights, being tolerant of people different ideas and different believers and empathy in the society stand as indispensable values.
