DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CREATIVE THINKING LEVELS OF TEACHERS AT PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS

Abstract

Creative thinking has been an important topic, especially in transformation period to information era. Creative thinking which is a necessity for increasing information and being more important in education is more important in science courses. In this research, it was aimed to examine differences between creative thinking levels of teachers at public and private schools. In the research, 317 science teachers working at private and public schools in Manisa under authority of National Education Ministry during 2016-2017 education year were subjected to survey. According to results of the study, creative thinking levels of teachers were significantly different based on experiment, education and taking creativity course groups (p<0,05). Creative thinking level of teachers at private schools was higher than teachers at public schools. Difference analysis results showed that this difference was statistically significant (p<0,05).
