Abstract
The paper resumed the issue of the scientificity of tribology. It presents the general questions of scientificity and knowledge demarcations in the scientific domain and research results. The return to these issues is purposeful because of the increase of tribological knowledge and the processes of differentiation, which are taking place in tribology as the result of knowledge development.
