DISTANCE COURSE IN THE SYSTEM OF TEACHING HIGHER MATHEMATICS TO STUDENTS LEARNING BUILDING AND ARCHITECTURE

Abstract
The article considers the principles and possibilities of using distance learning in higher professional education. The distance education is considered by the author as a technology that promotes the successful modernization of the learning process and can be used not only to organize the educational process “at a distance” but also to support classroom learning. It is emphasized that mathematics as an educational discipline has great opportunities for the implementation of distance learning, because the use of information technology allows to strengthen the applied and practical orientation of the course of higher mathematics and creates conditions for implementing an individual approach to a qualitatively new level. As the main principles underlying the design of the distance learning system, the author calls the principles of humanism, the priority of the pedagogical approach, the pedagogical feasibility to use new information technologies, the initial level of education, the conformity of teaching technologies, mobility of learning, non-antagonistic distance learning to the corresponding forms of education, etc. Considering some aspects of the methodology of distance learning, the author reveals the peculiarities of the synchronous and asynchronous communication application, analyzes the specific forms of classes that facilitate the implementation of these types of communication (chat sessions, web lessons). The author insists that Moodle’s system of distance learning is able to provide the most complete conditions for the development and implementation of a distance course using modern information and pedagogical technologies. The author presents the experience of implementing the distance course on higher mathematics for students studying “Building and Architecture”, describes the components of its structure (content, control and monitoring and information and communication blocks). The author notes that the results of the introduction of the course indicate the formation of skills for independent learning and improving the quality of training for students.
