Dry construction mixture modified with polimeric powders

Abstract
Today, new construction, renovation or repair of buildings cannot be imagined without using dry mixes. However, having thoroughly studied technical literature and patent information extensive technology for manufacturing of dry mixes based on magnesium cement failed to be identified. Purpose. Development and study on the powder polymer-modified dry mix produced from the magnesia-bischofite composition with additives. Conclusion. For the research a previously developed water-containing magnesia-bischofite composition with man-made additives and its anhydrous version for lab batching was used. Magnesia stone formed by curing of water-absorption mix has high strength properties Rmanuf (28) = 7-8 MPa; Rmix (28) = 45-48 MPa, but with relatively low water absorption (Wweight =6.3 %) it exhibits unstable water resistance value (Fsoft = 0.7-0.8). There are some problems related to microcracking in the structure of the samples. Therefore, in order to improve physical and mechanical properties of floor elements, it was decided to add modern plasticizers and redispersible polymer powders in the dry mix. Through studying physical and mechanical properties of the cured magnesia-bischofite composition specimens with injected man-made powder components and 5 % modified Mowilith, it was observed that high-strength is achieved through the formation of 5MgO•MgCl2•13H2О and 3MgO•MgCl2•11Н2О, and water-resistance is improved not only by oxyhydrochlorides, but also by both calcium and magnesium silicate hydrates bonded by polymer binders, namely Mowilith.
